Bow Down to Duckie

I saw Pretty in Pink for the first time at three this morning. I was at a slumber party (yes, I still go to those), and when everyone else was sleeping (lazy party poopers) I was watching the movie. And I have to say that, while I claim to despise eighties clothes, Molly Ringwald's fashion was pretty cool. The oversized blazers, the dangly charms, the brimmed hats. Monday, I'm actually going to wear my green DKNY blazer with one of my mom's brooches. I bought it at an flea market because of the color, and I've only worn it once or twice. But now I'm inspired to make it my own. If only we could wear hats to school...

Not only did Molly Ringwald dress to impress in Pretty in Pink. John Cryer, as the delightfully eccentric Duckie, dressed the way I think all guys should dress. What is wrong with putting a little effort into your wardrobe? I go insane with delight when I pass a guy at school in a blazer or (could it be?) a pink shirt. In my opinion, real men wear pink. Why can't a guy be "handsome in pink"?

Anyway, I guess the eighties aren't that bad. I still don't like big hair, though.
Ta-Ta.
