Back in Black

I'm back! I've been gone for quite some time! It's that darn Prison again. But I've been wearing those boots from the previous post, and they are some of the most comfortable heels I've ever worn. They are amazing.

Anyway, I thought I'd point out that even though I haven't posted for awhile, I haven't forgotten Near-Sighted. In fact, I've been asked by my Myspace-obsessed friends if I have a Myspace, and I reply "No, but I have a blog." They always frown at this, and then I add "It's a pretty rockin' one, too." I've kind of made "rockin'" my new word. My friend will never let me forget that I called the pep ralley "rockin'" sarcastically a few months ago.

Not only am I back. But I'm back in black. I love the color black. I used to hate it, and would strive for color, but now I love black, and I'm surprised at how quickly I've accumulated so many black clothes. I especially love it with white, and tuxedo-like pieces are an obsession right now. So I encourage everyone to find a particular trademark or color that you love and go with it. One of my friends likes dangly earrings. I love necklaces and bows and did I mention shoes?

Bow Down

Payless never disappoints me. I went to the mall Saturday to buy a new pair of skinny jeans, because I wear my favorite pair practically every other day and they're getting worn out, but I ended up buying shoes. Why does that always happen? I bought these booties, which are actually really comfortable. They look great with skinny jeans. I couldn't tuck mine in, but if you wear the really skin-tight ones, a la Sienna Miller, they'd probably fit. But we can't all have insanely skinny legs like Sienna, can we?

November Already?

I cannot believe it is already November. I guess that's because my time has been full of studying, shopping, studying, seeing movies, studying, sleeping in on Saturday, studying, falling asleep in front of the television, studying, and eating chocolate. That kind of stuff can really make a month go by quickly for a girl.

I think the transition from summer to fall is difficult for some people. I mean, all of a sudden it's cool out and those tank tops and miniskirts have to be reserved for layering, because no item of clothing from warm weather is ever useless in the cold. But people seem to feel that they still need to get some use out of them by themselves. I see shorts, tank tops, and flip-flops haphazardly mixed with sweaters and jackets. I've already stated my opinion about flip-flops in any weather, so I won't discuss those. But it seems that people are one of two extremes during the transition from summer to fall: either they are bundled up like they are about to face a blizzard, or they look like they just stumbled in from the land down under. I myself adore the cold weather, because I am in love with layering. Sweaters and boots, vests and trousers. I can't get enough. Not to mention long coats and casual blazers.

November is here anyway, and I'm just happy it's still fall, my favorite season. Plus, I've still got all that Halloween candy to eat. And great autumn outfits to put together.

Happy November! Ta-Ta.
