Poultry
I attended a birthday party this weekend where, the guests looked out onto a lake where a pair of large white swans and an ugly brown swan were peacefully floating. Suddenly, with regards to the ugly swan, someone says, "It looks like a turkey." This prompted a long, ridiculous conversation about the red, droopy things on a turkey's head. The conversation then turned to chickens and roosters, as we struggled to remember where the red droopy thing was on each individual bird. As I was enjoying this conversation, someone who was not a part of it looked confused, and I simply told them, "We're discussing poultry." This prompted laughter, and I really cannot understand why. Anyway, we decided to end the poultry conversation and just yell "Aflack!" at the birds, until they crawled up on shore and we all backed away like little kids. Thankfully, they turned right around and didn't kill us. I can imagine it: "Killer swans attack and kill group of teenagers with their razor sharp beaks!" Well, maybe not. If they were bunnies, perhaps...
